Jamie began his career as a financial advisor after completing his Bachelor's Degree from The Citadel in 2001. He quickly learned the business during one of the worst declines in stock market history. He holds the Chartered Mutual Fund Counselorâ„ designation and CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
Jamie married his high school sweetheart, Leah, in 2003. They live in Forest Acres, SC, and have three children. His children attend Ben Lippen School where Leah also works as its Director of the Individual Learning Center. Jamie is able to leverage Leah’s knowledge and experience in special education within the public and private sector for the benefit of his clients with special needs. Leah went to the University of South Carolina for her undergraduate and graduate studies. She obtained a PhD in School Psychology from the University of South Carolina in 2008.
In addition to his professional career, Jamie is committed to serving his community. He is an active member of Shandon Baptist Church in Columbia, SC, serves as an usher, and was ordained as a Deacon in 2026. He also serves as a Board Member of the Shandon Counseling Center, a non-profit organization committed to providing clinical counseling from a Christian worldview. He volunteers his time assisting SC United, the local soccer club where his two boys play. He is also a member of a local BNI Chapter and previously served as the chapter's Vice President. He is a lifetime member of the Citadel's Alumni Association.
Previous service within his church includes teaching youth in it's kids ministry, serving as a teacher in one of its Sunday morning groups, and service as a Director of its Married Adult Department. Past community service also includes serving on the Board of a local Home Owner's Association and serving on the Board of Directors of the Financial Planning Association of SC as its Vice President. He was also a founding member of a Kiwanis Chapter in Santee, SC.
Jamie's other interests include reading, history, and traveling.
